Fluid is a tool for Mac OS X Leopard that allows you to run web applications like Gmail or Facebook directly from your Dock, eliminating the need for a web browser. By simply entering the application's URL, naming it, selecting a save directory, and choosing an icon, you can convert the web app into a desktop version with ease. In addition to Gmail and Facebook, other web services such as FriendFeed, YouTube, Google Reader, Campfire, Flickr, Muxtape, Tumblr, Delicious, and .Mac can also be transformed into desktop applications using Fluid. This means you can access these services quickly and easily from your desktop without opening a web browser. To further streamline the process, Fluid offers a 'Convert to extra SSB menu' function that allows you to place your created applications in the menu bar for quick access. With Fluid, you can create a seamless and efficient desktop experience for all your favorite web applications.
